AEROSMITH - TYLER CLEARS OUT HIS WARDROBE FOR CHARITY AUCTION

AEROSMITH rocker STEVEN TYLER is cleaning out his closet for charity, the opportunity giving fans to own clothing items he has worn. Sell for T-shirts will Julien’s Auctions, suits and memorabilia Tyler has donated in New York on 21 November (09). The cash raised will benefit the MusiCares MAP Fund, which provides addiction recovery resources to musicians in need. Tyler, a former MusiCares MAP Fund honouree - for his efforts to assist other addicts on their journey to recovery - says, "This is a personal gesture - a way for me to literally dive into my closet and give back. "Even my skivvies are going up for auction in support of MusiCares." And he has recruited a bunch of famous friends, like Sir Paul MCCartney, Ron Wood, and Metallica star James Hetfield to help him raise charity cash by donating items for the Hard Rock Cafe auction. MCCartney has offered up a signed Hofner Bass and Wood has donated a painting.

"The bad boys of Boston", as their website labels these 60 something millionaires, haven't released a studio album since 2001, as Febuary and as currently were planning to replace frontman Steven Tyler because of his addiction to painkillers. Yet here Aerosmith are, evidently the best of friends again, introducing a surprisingly young crowd to the finer points of rocking out in tight silver britches.
Template the Aerosmith – power riffs served up with glam-rock visual flair – was established 40 years ago, and has never been updated. But the formula works better than you might expect. Tyler's face looks like a latex mask these days, but he wears a look through fringed shirt and black nail varnish without looking too tragic, and still brings off the taxing falsetto screech at the end of their signature anthem, Dream On. Guitarist Joe Perry – Keith to Tyler's Mick – is flashy as only a 70s survivor can be, playing guitar and theremin simultaneously on Sweet Emotion and a double necked guitar for Livin' On the Edge.
With none of the particular effects of most arena acts, the onus falls on Tyler to provide thrills. He's never still: when not twirling the mic stand over his head, he's getting touchy feely with Perry, cuddling up and slapping his fedora on to the guitarist's head. Perry gets his moment in the spotlight, proficiently singing lead on Stop Messin' Around, but Tyler has the magnetism. "I was a high school loser, never made it with the ladies," he bawls on Walk This Way, but that's hard to credit. Tyler a loser? No – Aerosmith owe him their continued existence.

Aerosmith Sued Over Cancelled Canadian Shows

Rockers AEROSMITH are facing a multi million dollar lawsuit from promoters in Canada after they cancelled a string of shows in the country last year (09).
The band scrapped a chunk of its North American tour in 2009 after frontman Steven Tyler broke his left shoulder falling from the stage at a gig in South Dakota.
The axed dates included five concerts in Canada last August (09), and now executives at Keystone Entertainment Group Ltd. have filed suit against the band, alleging the musicians breached their contract by scrapping the shows and failing to respond to requests to reschedule the dates.
The legal papers, filed in a Calgary court, claim bosses at Keystone reached out to the rockers last September (09) in a bid to plan new concerts, but received no response.
The lawsuit alleges the company lost money and seeks $6 million (£4 million) in damages for lost ticket sales and profits for the five concerts, according to the Toronto Sun.
Aerosmith kick off a European tour on Thursday (10Jun10) in Sweden, before embarking on a series of North American shows, including one concert in Canada, in July (10).

The celebrated rock band, Aerosmith, seems to have fashioned over the last year a lot of buzz. The rumor mills are targeting them, regarding upcoming shows as well as tours. Some have even questioned the legendary front man Steven Tyler’s devotion to the band.
During Tyler’s absence Joe Perry, lead guitarist sort of, knew about Tyler’s return. However, a new singer he did want to audition who would be more devoted to the band.

Perry freed his fans by saying that they haven’t recruited anyone to replace Tyler. Most fans claimed that without Steven Tyler, it wouldn’t even be Aerosmith.
Tyler finally made his expected comeback after he spent time in the rehab to get rid of his addiction to painkillers. He also made a declaration concerning the dispute that the band suffered throughout his absence. However, everything seems better now, since the band is playing better than before.

Aerosmith: Perry 'Lucky' He Was Unhurt In Bike Accident

AEROSMITH guitarist JOE PERRY is in shock following his motorcycle crash, because he can't believe how "lucky" he was to escape the smash without injury.
The rocker was taken to hospital last week (15Jul10) after his bike was struck by a car at traffic lights in Taunton, Massachusetts.
Bandmate Tom Hamilton spoke out to reassure fans the star was fine, confirming that Perry was "sore" but "doing good".
And Perry is thankful he was left unhurt unlike his "smashed up" bike.
Perry tells RollingStone.com, "Next thing I know, I'm on Tarmac looking up at the sky. This woman behind me just didn't slow down at the light. She was going 25-30 miles per hour and just rear ended me. Everything on the bike from the engine back is smashed up, but I don't even have a black and blue mark. I can't believe it. I'm just really lucky."

Perry's Injury Won't Affect Aerosmith Tour

Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton has confirmed guitarist Joe Perry will join the band on its North American tour later this month, just days after he was injured in a motorcycle accident.
Perry sustained unknown injuries after his motorcycle was struck by a car at traffic lights in Taunton, Massachusetts on Thursday.
The rocker, 59, was taken by ambulance to the nearby Morton Hospital and Medical Center where he was treated and released.
But Hamilton insists the band's previously announced tour, which is scheduled to begin on July 23 in Oakland, California, will go on as planned - and Perry is expected to take the stage.
In an interview with Boston's Fox 25 News radio programme on Friday, Hamilton said: "He's doing good. He's a bit sore today, but he's well, and we're looking forward to heading out to the West Coast (on) Wednesday to start doing some touring in the States."
Perry has suffered from knee pain for years and had a total knee replacement operation in 2008.
